![]() Robert S. Waldbaum, M.D., F.A.C.S.
Robert S. Waldbaum, M.D., F.A.C.S. currently serves as Chairman Emeritus of the Department of Urology at North Shore University Hospital at Manhasset, Trustee of North Shore/Long Island Jewish Health System, is past-President of the medical staff at both North Shore University Hospital at Manhasset and St. Francis Hospital, is past-President of the Urology Section of New York Academy of Medicine, a member of The Board of Directors of the American Urological Association, has served as Historian of the Urology Foundation of America and he is the Urology Board Chairman of the Kidney and Urology Foundation of America. Dr. Waldbaum is a Fellow of the American College of surgery, the International College of Urology and the Society of Pediatric Urology, has served as President of the P.H.O. Board at North Shore University Hospital and on the Board of Directors of the Physicians' Organization of North Shore Hospital. Dr. Waldbaum is Chairman of the Medical Board at North Shore University Hospital and is also Chairman of Urology, Board of Kidney & Urology Foundation of America. Dr. Waldbaum was selected the Best Doctor of USA from 2001 to 2007, selected Best Cancer Doctor in the USA from 2004 to 2007. Dr. Waldbaum is a graduate of Columbia College. He earned his medical degree from Columbia University of Physicians and Surgeons, where he was a member of Alpha Omega Alpha, the National Honor Medical Society and president of his class. He served as Battalion Surgeon in the U.S. Marine Corps in Okinawa, Japan and Quantico, Virginia. His residency in surgery was done at Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center and his residency in urology was done at Cornell University Medical College/New York Hospital, where he was Chief Resident. Dr. Waldbaum was President of Urology Associates, P.C. in Manhasset NY. He was the Resident Coordinator of the New York Hospital/North Shore University Hospital/Cornell Residency Rotation. Dr. Waldbaum was the recipient of The National Kidney Foundation of NY/NJ John Kingsley Lattimer Award for Excellency in Research, Teaching and Patient Care as well as for Outstanding Leadership in Urology. He was also the recipient of the Russell W. Lavengood Distinguished Service Award for the NY Section of the AUA. Dr. Waldbaum will be sorely missed. We wish him all the best in his new endeavor.
