Mission Statement
Incontinence is simply defined as the involuntary loss of urine. In some women this occurs with a cough, laughter, or physical exertion. In others it may occur when they do not make it to the restroom in time. Lastly, some may experience leakage without any warning whatsoever. At your initial visit, you will be questioned about your general medical history and leakage problem. You will then be examined. At the conclusion of the visit, a customized plan will be created. You may be instructed in pelvic floor exercises and a modification in your diet. Alternatively, a medication might be prescribed. Lastly, surgical correction might be recommended if there is pelvic floor weakness. We want to emphasize that in almost all cases, incontinence can be improved or eliminated with an accurate and careful assessment. If you have questions after your visit, please feel free to contact me or Karen Hiller at 516.627.6188. Thank you for choosing Urology Associates for your urological care.
